2.In modern capitalistic society, relations of love, respect, and esteem constitute the differentiated forms of recognition for the healthy self-realization of individual autonomy. This “tripartite recognition order brought by modern capitalistic society” gives particular expressions to the conditions, modes, and forms of recognition (Honneth and Fraser 2003, p. 186). Honneth’s inclusion of love and esteem in addition to equality and rights as determining factors of individual autonomy shows us that equal recognition of political rights is not enough for the actualization of individual autonomy. Moreover, capitalism and relations of work under the sphere of esteem are identified as integrative functions for solidarity.
